OUR WORK
Australian Chamber
Orchestra Tokyo Tour
Our Brief
Acting on behalf of the ACO in Japan, we managed multiple relationships with funding bodies, presenters, local PR agency & music industry contacts in Australia & Japan, to successfully realise their Tokyo Tour. Our role also involved developing a medium-to-long-term strategy for the ACO to build a profile, connect with the community, and create a sustainable presence in Japan.

The Project
The ACO’s May 2018 Tokyo Concerts were by invitation of the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade and held at the prestigious Yomiuri Otemachi Hall as part of DFAT’s ‘Australia now’ promotion in Japan. These two sell-out performances were considered a critical and popular success, and quickly resulted in future opportunities for the ACO in Japan. An additional program of events included workshops by ACO members at Japanese music universities, the preview screening of the film Mountain – the ACO’s collaboration with Stranger Than Fiction Films, and media interviews.
ArtsPeople’s role with the ACO is now ongoing, as we maintain momentum for future successes.
